To the north, there's a gorgeous region known as Canada. Within Canada, some fantastic talented individuals are game developers and game creators. Who would have imagined that? 1. Sarbakan

Sarbakan is a company that was established in 1998. In the early days, Sarbakan concentrated on games played online and developed over 600 games in 2008. The company employs 85 employees and is based in Quebec City, Canada.

In the late 2000s, Sarbakan started creating Xbox Live Arcade games, such as Lazy Raiders (2010).

They also produced Nintendo DS titles Like Johnny Test (2011). In 2012, they joined forces together with Disney 2012 and came up with "Where's My Water" for mobile platforms. The game was able to win numerous prizes, and it was a blast to play!

2. Relic Entertainment

Relic Entertainment started back in 1997. It was bought in 2004 by THQ. In 2013 the company was transferred to Sega. Relic Entertainment's specialty is Real-Time Strategy Games.

They released Homeworld at the close of 1999. It was a massive success in the RTS genre. They also have responsibility for numerous Warhammer games, including the 40,000 games in addition to their Company of Heroes games. They are located in Vancouver, British Columbia. The size of their company is between 50 - 200 people.

3. Radical Entertainment

It is another Canadian game design studio located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

After Prototype 2's Prototype 2 launch failed to achieve the expected results in 2012 (despite receiving a favorable reception, however, sales were not high enough), Activision drastically reduced the size of Radical Entertainment.

Instead of acting as a support team to various Activision projects, it's not developing its own game. Despite its decline from the limelight, as the first game design studio in Vancouver (established around 1991).

4. Next Level Games

Next Level Games is a third-game development company based in Vancouver. They have 70 employees and have been doing very well for themselves since their business in 2002. Their partnership with Nintendo initially brought them to the forefront for gamers of all kinds. They helped to release games such as Mario Strikers and Punch-Out!

They plan a game to launch in August for the 3DS, Metroid Prime Federation Force.

It will be interesting what will transpire. As of now, players have been highly damaging to trailers and media coverage of the game. Even with the possible Metroid Prime error, it remains a worthy addition to the list of top games to play heap!

5. Hothead Games

Hothead Games is another game developer with its headquarters in Vancouver; a Canadian game design hotbed referred to as Vancouver. The company has around 120 employees. In 2009, they were the ones in charge of porting the critically acclaimed braid video game Braid for PS3 and Mac (is anyone listening to the soundtrack? ).

The Precipice of Darkness in the Rain may be their most well-known creation. It is an episodic role-playing/adventure game series. It was in part inspired by Penny Arcade, a web-based comic. Penny Arcade

Recently, they've released games such as Big Win NHL and Boom Boom Soccer to download on mobile. Hothead has only been rolling about since 2006, making it the newest game studio.

6. HB Studios

The year 2000 witnessed the beginning of HB Studios. A man by the name of Jeremy Wellard founded HB Studios in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Four years after its creation, HB Studios agreed with EA Canada to continue developing cricket and rugby games.

In March 2016, they released their upcoming snowboarding game that is physics-driven and allows you to design the mountain park of your dreams and even whole mountain ranges. 

7. Big Blue Bubble

Big Blue Bubble is the independent game-developing company behind My Singing Monsters' hit game. They're based out of London, Ontario, and employ between 51 and 200 employees.

The company was established around 2004. It has developed to become the most prominent independent mobile game manufacturer in Canada. Big Blue Bubble is also responsible for 24: The Mobile Game (among other games) extremely popular.

8. Beenox

Beenox is an in-house game design studio employing more than 330 employees. It is a different company that is its parent organization, Activision (as of 2005). Their fame comes mainly in the field of porting games to other platforms. At the beginning of 2000, they were porting games such as those from their Tony Hawk franchise to PC and Mac.

They have brought Black Ops III to Xbox 360 and PS3 in the past. The game they created was Bee Movie Game based on Bee Movie, the film by Dreamworks Studios. There is some fascination with bees in the studio. 

9. Behaviour Interactive

At 375 people, Behaviour Interactive is one of the largest game design studios listed. The studio has its headquarters in Montreal, Quebec home. Behaviour Interactive has had quite a name change since its inception in 1992.

The founders acquired it in 1999 and were then forced to change its name and settled on Artificial Mind and Movement, Inc.

They (quite doubtfully) reduced to A2M. In 2010, they changed their name to Behaviour Interactive and are where they are currently. In the last few years, they've created Fallout Shelter, a game for mobile based on Fallout Shelter, a match from the Fallout series that lets you operate your vault and act as an Overseer.

10. Bioware

If you thought that Behavior Interactive was significant, you must check out Bioware! These guys employ 800 people! The company is based in Edmonton, Alberta; Bioware is a primary RPG creator. Their initial IP game titles include Mass Effect, Jade Empire, along with Dragon Age games.

They can also smash it with licensed franchises such as Star Wars: Knights of the Old RepublicNeverwinter Nights, along Baldur's Gate. As you may have guessed, Bioware is part of Electronic Arts.

In 1995, the company was established and was independent for ten years before joining a partnership and was then bought in the year following EA. All the wheeling and dealing seems to have hindered their progress, and they've continued to create great RPGs.
